One of my favourite things has always been motion blur. It's been something I've been using since I learned about it when I was first experimenting with photoshop. I first took this picture in high school. We were practising shooting lowkey portraits on the old canon T718s that we had and we were just messing around with lighting when I snapped this picture of a kid in my class.

A few years later when I started at Humber and I learned about photoshop and the different blurs I decided to play around with it. One of my favourite photographers, Andy DeLuca uses a lot of motion blur and I wanted to try that so I pulled up the picture and got to work. I had to play around quite a bit to get the results I wanted but the process is simple enough. Create a duplicate layer and drop the opacity then move it offline in whatever direction you want the blur to be in. Once that happens it should look a little something like this.

Add some motion blur and adjust it however you’d like then you're done! This process is super simple and adds a lot to a picture.
